blog... why blogging??

1. What do you like about blogging?

So, what do like about blogging? I really like to to blog because i can share information about what i have learned in this semester besides that, i can also share my comments with my friends. It also provide the platform for me to do interactive discussion with my friends and therefore we can share our thoughts and opinions.

2. What you do not like about blogging?

The things that i do not like about blogging is I do not know on how to attract people to read this blog and thus there are less comments on my blog... it also not really can reflect my feeling in any reflection because reflection is better if it is done verbally and people can really know how you feel and thoughts if it is done verbally.

3. What have you gained from blogging eg. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc.

Blog can really help me in fostering my language fluency in writing skills because i can read other people's blogs and i can gain more knowledge on how to use the language properly....

4. How?

I think it helps me in my language, because I have the tendency to check on my work after I do my blog entries, there are also spelling correction when i do it, to self-correct and to ensure it is grammatical error-free. Critical thinking and reasoning skills does come into context when others leave comments on your blog and challenge you on some thoughts.

5. What do you like about this course? What have you learnt from this course?

we can do a lot of tutorials that is very useful for us in the future... i think i can also get some idea on how to exploit the use of technology in order to create teaching aids for my lesson in the classroom... i also learnt a lot of new things from this course... there are many kind of thing that i did not know before this and i get the exposure about it through this course.... it make me really eager to learn about the software, internet tools and many kind of things because i want to always stay up to date with the technology that might give big influence to us in the future.... i can also find the new way of teaching styles that i think that i can apply it in my future classroom.... i still got one and a half year before i finish my study and go out for teaching... so in 2012, i think the use of technology will widely use in the education field....

6. What you do not like about this course?

there are othing that i do not like about his course beause i love technology

7. What have you learnt from this course that you did not expect to?

i do not expect that i would learn on how to edit pictures, edit videos, edit audios because i think that we just have to download it and not to alter it

8. What have u expected but do not learn from this course?

there are nothing that i expected to learn because i am in the education course and I am a long life learner.. so i will learn everything that i could to sharpen my teaching skills...

9. On a scale of 1 – 10, please rate your computing and technological skills for both before and after undergoing the course.

i think my scale is 7 over 10 after this couse since i can use the software or everythin but i cannot use it excellently.....

WHAT IS E-BOOK?????

Early e-books were generally written for specialty areas and a limited audience, meant to be read only by small and devoted interest groups. The scope of the subject matter of these e-books included technical manuals for hardware, manufacturing techniques, and other subjects.

Numerous e-book formats emerged and proliferated, some supported by major software companies such as Adobe's PDF format, and others supported by independent and open-source programmers. Multiple readers naturally followed multiple formats, most of them specializing in only one format, and thereby fragmenting the e-book market even more. Due to exclusiveness and limited readerships of e-books, the fractured market of independents and specialty authors lacked consensus regarding a standard for packaging and selling e-books. E-books continued to gain in their own underground markets. Many e-book publishers began distributing books that were in the public domain. At the same time, authors with books that were not accepted by publishers offered their works online so they could be seen by others. Unofficial (and occasionally unauthorized) catalogs of books became available over the web, and sites devoted to e-books began disseminating information about e-books to the public.

As of 2009^[update], new marketing models for e-books were being developed and dedicated reading hardware was produced. E-books (as opposed to ebook readers) have yet to achieve global distribution. Only three e-book readers dominate the market, Amazon's Kindle model or Sony's PRS-500 and Bookeen with Cybook Gen3 and Cybook Opus. However, not all authors have endorsed the concept of electronic publishing. J.K Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, has stated that there will be no e-versions of her books.

tutorial!!

previously i learned that we have to make tutorials for many kinds of software

tutorial is very useful because i learned how to use the software correctly step by step

and it will help me to do it properly and it also can help other people who reading the tutorial.

i saw many kind of tutorials from my friends and i can easily follow the tutorials because there

are also pictures to give more details on how to do it... i also found out there are many tutorials

that posted on the internet and also guides on how to use certain software and i think it is really

useful because people will know how to apply it with the help from the tutorials....

there are also tutorials that done in video and it is more vivid since we can see it clearly

and the verbal instructions are very useful and understandable.....

So, if you want to use any software you can search it using the search engine in order to find

Microsoft publisher!!

This time, i have a chance to learn on how to use Microsoft publisher in the Microsoft office softwares...

this soft ware is very useful because i can use it as my teaching aids in the future...

there are many things that can be done using Microsoft publisher....... we can use this software to create:-

1 - postcard
2 - poster
3 - greeting card
4 - brochure
5 - fliers


after that i try to use it and try anything that useful in the microsoft publisher

I have a lot of fun using this... i tried to do the business cards and also the greeting cards and i thinks it is very use ful in doing this things...teacher can design any cards using Microsoft Publisher and give it to pupils after every semester to encourage them to work harder..

so hope that i can use this software in the future which when i will doing my teaching in schools

Video viewing

this week during the class period, our lecturer told us to show and share our video with the whole class... so, I spent most of my time viewing the videos from my fellow classmates... it was very fun because i can see many kind of creative ideas from my classmates.... we did the videos in pairs and i think the videos are very good because the whole people have different idea on how to to the video...


I really satisfied with the video that i made with my pair because i spent a lot of time in doing it... my partner and i did a lot of efforts in doing the video... the editing part was quite hard because it was our first time doing video editing and we were not quite familiar with the software that we used... i would like to thank my lecturer and friends who help to guide us and also teach us in doing this video... ok see you in the next entry!!

VIDEO EDITING!!

this time we have to create a picture slides video.... We were given lecture about how to create a video using certain softwares... therefore, I learnt a lot of things from this lecture because i can see the importance of using videos as the teaching aids in teaching and learning process in the classroom.... besides that, i also found that the video can attract the pupils and they will be more interested to participate in the classroom activities...

teachers who use video tend to motivate the pupils to learn and also make better understanding for the topic that they pupils learn... the use of video is the prove that integration of technology in teaching gives a lot of benefit to the pupils and also the teachers... it can make the teaching session easier and less time consuming.....

our lecturer set a task for us to create a video with any theme that we like... this task require us to do it in pairs and my pair was fazeah... she is really good because we can quickly come out with an idea about the video.... so, we decided that our theme is "love" and we created a story board for our video so that we can consult our lecturer.... our beloved lecturer approve the theme and she said that our theme and story board is very good..... We just need to proceed with the idea and take some pictures related to the video...

wish us luck for the video and i hope everything will go according to plan...

Audio Editing~!~~

Previously, I learned something new which is audio editing..... Before this i just listen to an audio and most of the audio that i listened was songs because i really like to listen to songs... I always do my work while listening to the songs....

The audio editing is very useful because we can edit the audio the way that we want it to be.... for example I can edit it to make it shorter or I can omit certain part of the audio... besides that, I can also put certain effects in the audio in order to make it more interesting or suit with our intention of editing the audio.... I also learned how to filter or reduce the noise from the audio...

There are certain software that can help us in editing the audio sounds... for instance, the Audacity, goldwave and sony vegas... I have to do a lot of practice in using the software because this things are new things that i learned and need some times to acquire the skill and ability in using the software...

Because of this course, i had a chance to learn about audio editing and i really treasure the knowledge that i get from this course since most of it are new knowledge for me.. I wll try my best to polish this skills because it would benefit me in the future!!!

e-book e-book e-book

e-book is the short for electronic book and it is an electronic version of a traditional print book that can be read by using a personal computer or by using an eBook reader. e-book can be purchased in online store. The most popular method of getting an eBook is to purchase a downloadable file of the eBook from a Web site such as Barnes and Noble to be read from the user's computer or reading device. Generally, an eBook can be downloaded in five minutes or less. Nowadays the world is promoting e-learning and children are all into computers, Internet and electronics. And therefore we as teachers should be up-to-date kind of teacher. We should be better than our pupils so that we would not left behind. besides that, we can also find the new interesting way in delivering the lesson so that we can motivate our pupils to learn and gain intrinsic motivation.

I have to work on my first e-book and i have to think the story line and create the story board for it... i think i would like to integrate mathematics learning in my e-book. i drew the characters and also choose the suitable picture for the background so it would fit the setting of the story...
I found a video that shows an e-book reader and i think you should watch this video so that you would find some idea on how e-book looks like.



I think we should explore more on e-book because i found it is very useful

Photo Editing!!

Previously, i learned how to edit photos and i found it is very interesting and very use for teaching aids..... i think the photo editing will give me some new ideas on how to choose the appropriate teaching materials that can be used in the classroom....

Nowadays, children especially the primary school pupils are more interested to focus on the lesson when there are more concrete materials used in teaching and learning process especially the visual aids.... the will be motivated to learn and have better understanding towards the lesson....

So, during the last class that i attended recently, i learned how to edit the pictures using the FxFoto software... the tools in this software are simple because it is a free software...

After that, i edited the second picture using the Photoshop software.... I learn how to edit this picture from my brother who studied in UUM... he taught me how to use photoshop and the picture is very good for amateur like me...

I cropped Valentino Rossi's picture and put it as the second layer of the picture and result is quite amazing!!

I really love this picture!! I hope i could be a better photo editor... i will polish my talent in using photoshop!!

How to Embed a YouTube Video on Your Blog

First, go to YouTube and find a video that you like. It doesn't have to be a video that you created.

Next, look for the box directly to the right of the video. Not only does this box let you subscribe to videos, it also gives you the code for embedding video. Go to the line marked Embed at the bottom of this box. Click inside the code box next to the word Embed. All of the code text should automatically be highlighted. If not, you'll need to select it. Copy this code. You can copy by right-clicking on your mouse and selecting copy from the drop-down menu.








Next, you need to paste this code into your blog. For this tutorial, I will use Blogger, which is a free blogging service from Google.

Log into your Blogger account and compose a new message for your blog. Select the edit HTMLpaste from the drop-down menu
tab, and paste the code you copied from YouTube. It is important to make sure you have the HTML tab selected first. You can paste the code by right-clicking and selecting

That's it. Press the post button and then preview your blog, to make sure everything works. When readers look at your blog, they'll see the embedded video, and they can click on the play button in the center to view the video. It is possible to modify the HTML code so that the video automatically plays as soon as it is loaded, instead of making the reader click. However, I don't recommend this. It is rude to readers who don't expect video, and it can really drag on users who have slow

Animation!!!!!!!

this week i have created an animation just for fun but educative and my target viewers are primary pupils... so, i tried the animation studio first and then i do the video less then one hour. I choose animation characters from the "street fighters" game because I think they are familiar character and really popular among the targeted learners.. my objective of creating this video is to make sure the viewers are able to identify the verbs of movements...

Internet skills

Hello.... i have learned about the Internet skills in my previous class of USING AND DEVELOPING RESOURCES FOR THE ESL CLASSROOM. I think i should put this entry before my previous entry because this is the general idea of Internet skills...... I learned a lot of things during this lesson.. for example, we were taught on how to use the search engine which is "Google.com" and I think it is very crucial for me to learn this skill. Based on what I learned, we must know how to choose the correct search results so that we will find the item that we are searching for. My lecturer taught on how to use the search engine by giving example on searching the mp3 file of Micheal Jackson's last song before he passed away...

Our lecturer told us to use print screen button to copy the steps on how to use the search engine, how to choose the correct search results, how to download, how to locate the downloaded files, and how to play the mp3 files..... Besides that, I also learned on how to download flash cards, edited pictures, animation, audio and video clips. Then i found that it was very easy to download certain files from the Internet and the internet connection should be fast enough or the download progress will be interrupted and you will not be able to finish it...

how to use search engine

recently i learned how to use the search engine in my PBEY3102 class. So, i found out learning this skill is very useful because i can search many kind of things such as mp3, pictures, video and etc. Firstly, in this entry i will show what i learned in the previous class and i will show only one example of using the search engine which is Google search engine. my lecturer asked us to find the last song from Micheal Jackson before he passed away. So, there are 10 steps on how search this song. I will try to show steps one by one okay!!







I also learn how to download other things but i just only show how to download the mp3.....

Second Week Of-using and developing resources class

this week our class activity was filling the form for survey to know our background knowledge about the ICT.... it also shows our current competence of using the technology and also giving awareness about the software that are useful for the teaching and learning process.. after i filled the form i realize that there are many things that i should learn. After that, our lecturer divided us into smaller groups. I joined the video editing group and our leader is firdaus.... so, we have to compile the videos from our seniors from their assignments.... I am not feeling so well this week maybe it is the effect of the thick haze in Kuala Lumpur... i have sore throat and headache...
